They gather in small groups
In the middle of the night
Standing in the moonlit places
Swaying left to right
I hid around the corner
As some of them stumbled through
I swear, they look like people
But they don't move like me or you.
They slump and drag their bodies
Their voices groan and drone
They looked at me like they were hungry
Like a dog looks at a bone.
One of them came right at me
And I didn't know what to think
So I hit him in the head with the hammer
And I stuffed him in the sink
Just when I thought it was over
And I turned to walk away
He got up and tried to bite me
It's been like that way all goddamn day
